This placement is part of my course, which I am currently taking at the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow. I am supposed to do my placement at one of the industrial companies throughout United Kingdom. Unfortunately, all my applications have been rejected and all interviews were not successful. So I do my placement at the university, in the Signal Processing Division, EEE Department.
     I am now working under the supervision of Dr. Robert W. Stewart, together with his group of research students. Now, I am helping one of the research student, Eugen Pfann with his project in developing the Adaptive DSP Sytems.
     I learn lots of new things during my first month in the placement. Bob really expose me to new applications of realising signal processing concepts. I learn how to use System View (Elanix Ltd), one of the powerful DSP software applications and the Adobe Framemaker (Adobe Sys), word processing and publication software.
     Right now, I am preparing the audio files which consists of the sine wave tones, various types of noise (Gaussian, Uniform, Pink, White, Brown), and some of the audio files from Racal. Eugen and I will then analyse the audio files using some of the hardware in the lab, such as the ANR (Active Noise Reduction) headset, amplifier, audio player, etc. The result will then compared to the result obtained by Racal.
    

Telekom's Practical Training
End of May 97 - Mid of August 97

The programme is designed for the Telekom Malaysia students who studied in ITTM. After we have completed our diploma programme, we were sent to various places, each has different operations, to gain some experiences working in different kind of fields of expertise.

I was attached to two places in Selangor. One was in Gombak, and the other was in Wangsa Maju. I did my practical in CAN Planning (Customer Acces Network) section and TOMA section, respectively.
